Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyse the growing competitiveness of airlines in the European passenger transport market using the example of three companies: Turkish Airlines, TUI Group, and Ryanair Holdings. Furthermore, an attempt was made to determine the improvement in airline competitiveness in the European passenger transport market through a comparative economic analysis of the leading carriers. Amidst increasing financial pressure, uneven regulatory environments, and post-pandemic recovery efforts, European airlines face significant challenges. This study identifies key performance indicators and evaluates structural and managerial differences between the major market players. The TOPSIS method was used to assess competitiveness, allowing the simultaneous consideration of criteria that are advantageous and unfavourable for the entities examined. The research reveals that fleet efficiency, hub structure, employee productivity, and customer service quality significantly influence airline competitiveness.
