Abstract

According to its title, this paper is devoted to the core critical categories evolved by Roland Barthes, as part of the French new criticism, which in American and Anglo-Saxon circles was also known as french theorie. The author of the paper includes in his considerations remarks on the reception of Barthe’s theory in the scientific community of Cracow at times when it aroused interest in Poland. However, the author lays particular emphasis on those categories that influenced his reflections in other papers dedicated by him to works by Maurice Blanchot, Henri Michaux and Georges Perec.
